Jonathan Newton Dazzles in the Covenant Win
The Covenant picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Jonathan Newton. Rappahannock County had no answer to Newton as he rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 46 yards and a touchdown. Newton also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Newton is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Greenbrier Christian Academy on Saturday. Newton rushed for 433 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 19.7 yards per carry the last time he and the Gators duked it out back in October of 2023.
