Basketball Recap: Emanuel County Institute Takes a Loss

Emanuel County Institute lost against Portal back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs lost to the Portal Panthers at home by a 59-40 margin. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Portal found their leader in sophomore Josh Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coleman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kj Hunter, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Emanuel County Institute's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Portal, they pushed their record up to 10-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Emanuel County Institute has already played their next matchup, a 73-49 defeat against Treutlen on the 3rd. As for Portal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-43 loss against Jenkins County on the 3rd.
