Volleyball Game Preview: Jacksonville Cardinals vs. J.H. Rose Rampants

Jacksonville is 0-10 against J.H. Rose since September of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will head out to face off against the Rampants at 5:00 p.m. J.H. Rose took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Jacksonville, who comes in off a win.

Jacksonville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Northern Durham with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, J.H. Rose faced D.H. Conley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Rampants fell 3-1 to the Vikings. The Rampants have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-11, 19-25, 25-13.

Jacksonville will have to contain Caroline Bayes as she made an impact in J.H. Rose's last game. She had 18 digs and two aces. Bayes has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played. Jamy Howard also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Jacksonville's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for J.H. Rose, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.

Jacksonville suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to J.H. Rose when the teams last played back in September. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
