Basketball Recap: James Bartek's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Legacy Academy over Christian Ministries Academy

Legacy Academy lost against Christian Ministries Academy back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Legacy Academy Warriors fell 79-70 to the Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (64), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Bartek, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ozzy Toledano, who had 17 points.

Christian Ministries Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Hicks, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 14 rebounds, and ten assists. Hicks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Cade Elledge was another key player, going 10 for 19 on his way to 25 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Legacy Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Christian Ministries Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Legacy Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 80-66 loss against Trinity Christian on the 21st. Christian Ministries Academy has also already played their next game (against Southwest Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
