Softball Recap: Dawson-Bryant Takes a Loss

Dawson-Bryant and Portsmouth West squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Dawson-Bryant had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Senators by a score of 3-2. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Senators when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dawson-Bryant saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Kitts, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Dawson-Bryant's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Portsmouth West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season.

Dawson-Bryant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portsmouth West, they will face off against Garaway at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Senators surely won't give up without a fight.
