Preview: Ysleta Indians vs. Mountain View Lobos
Ysleta is 1-7 against Mountain View since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ysleta Indians will play host again and welcome the Mountain View Lobos, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Ysleta strolled past Harmony Science Academy with points to spare, taking the game 53-37.
Meanwhile, Mountain View entered their tilt with Austin with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Mountain View claimed a resounding 45-18 win over Austin at home.
Jisell Huizar was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 15 points along with 4 steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Breann Martinez, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
Ysleta's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Ysleta, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-27 loss to Mountain View in their previous matchup back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mountain View's Ximena Delgado, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Now that Ysleta knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
