Softball Recap: Mt. Mansfield Comes Up Short

Mt. Mansfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-2 to the South Burlington Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 14-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Mt. Mansfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Amelia Pavese also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Mt. Mansfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Burlington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Mt. Mansfield will head out on the road to challenge Colchester at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Burlington, they will take on Essex at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
