Baseball Game Preview: Bruce Trojans vs. Myrtle Hawks

For the second straight game, Bruce will face off against Myrtle. The Trojans will host the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bruce has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Myrtle will arrive with five straight wins.

Bruce fell victim to Myrtle and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 10-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Myrtle's part, Drew Stanton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Wes Stanton was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Bruce's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Myrtle, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bruce has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Myrtle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
