Baseball Recap: Lancaster Catholic Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Lancaster Catholic and Trinity pushed the score to 11-9 the last time they played Trinity, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Crusaders never let the Shamrocks get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by just one run.

The result came thanks to Zach Zuber's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks.

Lancaster Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lancaster Catholic will head out to challenge Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Trinity, they will face off against East Pennsboro at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Shamrocks 2.5, the Panthers 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
