Tri-Valley proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 20) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Highland Fighting Scots a 1-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Scotties as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Brady Kaufman, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Highland off the board. Kaufman has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

Tri-Valley's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Highland, their loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

Tri-Valley and Highland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Scotties (ranked 37th) will meet John Glenn (ranked 503rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Highland will square off against Fredericktown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (141 vs. 592).
