Softball Recap: Roseau Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Roseau came tearing into Friday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] Northern Freeze a 15-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Roseau's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County], they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roseau will face off against Goodridge/Thief River Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County], they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fertile-Beltrami at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.83 runs per game on average), something the Northern Freeze will no doubt try to take advantage of.
