Basketball Recap: Flomaton Comes Up Short

Flomaton suffered their biggest defeat since January 23rd on Friday. They took a blow against the Escambia County Blue Devils, falling 81-53. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 132nd).

Cleo Bolar continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Escambia County, going 9 of 16 en route to 23 points along with six steals and five assists. The matchup was Bolar's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaniguel Taylor, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Flomaton and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Escambia County, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Flomaton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-26 loss against T.R. Miller on the 16th. Escambia County has also already played their next contest, an 86-67 defeat against Tate on the 16th.
