Baseball Recap: Jasper's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

While Jasper didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-26-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the West Brook Bruins on Tuesday. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 13-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brady Moss looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Blayne Durham, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Jasper's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Konnor Washburn, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Jasper's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-4. As for West Brook, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9-1.

Coming up, Jasper will square off against Livingston at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Jasper is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for West Brook, they will face off against Westfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
