Basketball Recap: Northview Comes Up Short

Northview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Wilson Wildcats didn't end well, with the Northview Vikings falling 59-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-46 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Northview lost, don't look at Aaron Arreola. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-13 on his way to 20 points and six boards. Arreola has become a key player for Northview: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 15 points, but 6-18 otherwise. Another player making a difference was John Rincon, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Tyler Wong was his usual excellent self, going 6-for-9 en route to 17 points for Wilson. What's more, Wong also posted a 71% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Jett Hung was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Wilson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.

Northview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-24 defeat against Rowland on the 5th. As for Wilson, they have also already played their next match, a 47-44 win against Covina on the 5th.
