Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph Cadets vs. Darien Blue Wave

The St. Joseph Cadets are taking a road trip to square off against the Darien Blue Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Joseph's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

Last Friday, St. Joseph was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Ridgefield. The loss continues a trend for the Cadets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

St. Joseph might have lost, but man, TJ Wright was a machine: he went 13 of 22 en route to 31 points and three steals. The contest was Wright's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lameik Black, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Darien scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 74-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stamford. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (65), the Blue Wave still had to take the loss.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Darien, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

St. Joseph skirted past Darien 74-72 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Joseph since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
