Recap: DeMotte Christian Knights vs. Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks
The DeMotte Christian Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech as DeMotte Christian made off with a 63-42 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as DeMotte Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
DeMotte Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayce Bultema out in front who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Terpstra, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Despite the loss, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech still got an impressive performance from Jermaine Bartlett, who scored 23 points. The matchup was Bartlett's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tyler Washington was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
DeMotte Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
DeMotte Christian will be home for the holidays to greet South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Granger Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
