Softball Recap: George Wythe Takes a Loss

George Wythe and Auburn squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but George Wythe had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Morgan Layne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

George Wythe's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Auburn, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

As of now, neither George Wythe nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
