Football Recap: Pickens Blue Flame vs. St. Joseph's Catholic Knights
Pickens lost against St. Joseph's Catholic back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Flame fell 49-41 to the Knights. The Blue Flame were down 49-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Pickens still got an impressive performance from Brooks Dow, who rushed for 196 yards while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 123 yards and a pair of TDs. Will Stone helped out on the ground, rushing for 137 yards.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Mack Rambo and Sam Patterson. Rambo rushed for 175 yards and four scores while Patterson rushed for 155 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Those 155 rushing yards gave Patterson a new career-high. Jack Stewart was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and one TD on only nine carries.
This is the second loss in a row for Pickens and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Pickens wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 50-42 loss against Blue Ridge on the 19th. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-7 defeat against Fountain Inn on the 19th.
