Flag Football Recap: Paramount Comes Up Short

Paramount extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-12. They lost 26-0 to the Bellflower Buccaneers. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Buccaneers are ranked 177th).

As for Bellflower, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Bellflower found their leader in freshman Kendyll Upshaw, who threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 47 yards and one TD.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Paramount is set to take on their familiar foe Norwalk at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bellflower will challenge rival Corona at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
