 Morgan Township is 8-2 against Westville since May of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Morgan Township Cherokees will look to defend their home field  against the Westville Blackhawks at 4:30  p.m. Morgan Township is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3  runs per game  this season.
 Morgan Township had been on  a  four-game streak of scoring at least ten  runs, but South Central put an end to it  on Wednesday. Morgan Township fell  5-1 to South Central.
  Morgan Watson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and three unearned) runs on six hits.
 At the plate, Morgan Township saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Reilly Biggs, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double.

Vargas has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 12 consecutive pitching appearances. Vargas was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Maddison Cole, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.  Kiersten Vaughan was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 Morgan Township's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Westville, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record  this season.
 Friday's   contest will be a test for both team's pitchers. Morgan Township hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Westville struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
