Baseball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

If Lakeland was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Okemos on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Lyon East Cougars on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Lakeland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. As for South Lyon East, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cougars beat Lakeland by a score of 6-2 later that day.
