Basketball Game Preview: South Fayette Lions vs. Baldwin Highlanders

The South Fayette Lions will square off against the Baldwin Highlanders at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

South Fayette is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mars just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fightin' Planets.

Meanwhile, Baldwin waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over the Indians. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Indians are ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Baldwin, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.

South Fayette didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Baldwin in their previous meeting on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Fayette since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
