Soccer Game Preview: Cedar Ridge vs. McNeil

The Cedar Ridge Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the McNeil Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Ridge's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Cedar Ridge's offense. They lost 4-0 to Vista Ridge on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while the Rangers are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, McNeil didn't have quite enough to beat Vista Ridge on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost three in a row.

McNeil's loss dropped their record down to 7-2-1. As for Cedar Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

Cedar Ridge came up short against McNeil in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Cedar Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
