Bishop Kelley dropped their record down to 22-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rejoice Christian Eagles. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Comets, who until this game were averaging 3.04 runs allowed.

As for Rejoice Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-14. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games.

For Rejoice Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Caleb Hall, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Hall is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kai Buntin, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bishop Kelley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-0 victory against Midwest City on the 21st. As for Rejoice Christian, they will take on Cascia Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
