Arvin has gone a perfect 10-0 against Shafter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Arvin Bears will take on the Shafter Generals at 3:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Arvin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt West on Saturday. Arvin put the hurt on West with a sharp 12-3 win. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Bears this season.
Christian Gomez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Gomez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Noe Perez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Six bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jaime Pantoja, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Arvin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, everything went Shafter's way against Del Oro on Monday as Shafter made off with a 16-1 victory. Considering the Generals have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Arvin, Shafter also got a great game from a two-way player: Nini Garcia. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Garcia was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Shafter let Alex Casanova-Balderrama and Joaquin Garza run wild. Casanova-Balderrama scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Garza scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Garza also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Dustin Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Arvin's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Shafter, their record is now an identical 3-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Arvin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Shafter struggles in that department as they've averaged .579. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
