Basketball Recap: Decatur Eisenhower Takes a Loss

Decatur Eisenhower extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 5-20. They lost 71-45 to the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cyclones this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-27 back in November of 2025.

As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-13. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Decatur Eisenhower is ranked 315th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sacred Heart-Griffin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Montgomery, who posted 15 points. The contest was Montgomery's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Terrion Wallace, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 13 points.

Decatur Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-48 victory against Mt. Zion on the 14th. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 81-52 win against Danville on the 16th.
