Baseball Recap: Keyser Takes a Loss

Keyser was the 2-1 winner over Fairmont Senior when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Tornado took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Polar Bears on Saturday. The contest marked the Golden Tornado's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Keyser got a good showing from Sawyer Rodeheaver, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Keyser saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layne Zacot, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Cam Larkin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Keyser and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Fairmont Senior, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Keyser wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-6 defeat against Grafton on the 29th. As for Fairmont Senior, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Charleston Catholic on the 2nd.
