Volleyball Recap: South Knox Spartans vs. Sullivan Golden Arrows
South Knox lost against Sullivan back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Golden Arrows.
While South Knox was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Sullivan's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-23.
Janet West paced South Knox's offense, picking up ten kills. West got some help from Ava Steffey and her 14 assists.
Rachel Eslinger had an outrageously good game for Sullivan as she had nine digs and five kills. Eslinger is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Mccammon, who had 12 digs and one assist.
South Knox dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
South Knox didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against West Vigo on the 21st. As for Sullivan, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against South Vermillion on the 20th.
