Softball Recap: Tussey Mountain Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While Tussey Mountain's victory against Mount Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Trojans 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in April.

Joslyn Raley was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adyson Weyandt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Olivia Mills was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Tussey Mountain pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Mount Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tussey Mountain will venture away from home to challenge Northern Bedford County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Union, they will head out to square off against Mifflin County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
