Football Recap: Hoggard Vikings vs. Cleveland Rams
Hoggard had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Cleveland Rams by a score of 35-32 on Friday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Although Hoggard took the loss, they still got scores from David Hunter, Aniziyon Session, and Rasean Williams.
Jackson Byrd had an outrageously good game for Cleveland as he threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown. Byrd got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible53 yards. Krisjon Clark was Byrd's top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
Hoggard will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wallace-Rose Hill at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th. Hoggard will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Cleveland, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
