Baseball Recap: Berea Drops Season-High Score on Menifee County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berea). They blew past the Menifee County Wildcats 25-6 on Wednesday. While the Pirates didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Tommie Banderman was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Prophitt, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Berea is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Menifee County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Berea will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Paris at 6:00 p.m. As for Menifee County, they will head out to challenge Cordia at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
