Basketball Recap: Harrison Beats South Cobb for Their Fourth Straight Win

Harrison came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the South Cobb Eagles by a score of 33-24. Given the Hoyas' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Eagles are ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, South Cobb saw an underclassman step up: freshman Stephanie Aguirre posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Starling, who earned six points.

Harrison pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for South Cobb, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrison and Cambridge will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. As for South Cobb, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the South Cobb Eagles challenge the Hillgrove Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
