Football Recap: Southern Wells Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Southern Wells kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 14-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elwood Panthers. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Trey Slusher threw for 52 yards and one touchdown. Levi Blake was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards and one TD.

Southern Wells will challenge Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elwood, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Tipton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
