Basketball Recap: Clayton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clayton can now relate to. They took a hard 62-47 fall against the Green Level Gators on Tuesday. The Comets' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Clayton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Grimes, who posted ten points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Justice Mitchell, who earned eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green Level to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Manhertz, who scored ten points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Manhertz has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Isaac Ericksen was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points and eight boards.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Green Level, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Clayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Green Level, they will challenge New Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Hanover will roll in looking for their 25th straight victory, something Green Level surely won't give up without a fight.
