Basketball Recap: Josef Sharifi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead the Webb Schools over Tarbut V' Torah

After soaring to 79 points the game before, The Webb Schools was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tarbut V' Torah Lions, falling 49-28. The game marked the Gauls' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Gauls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josef Sharifi, who posted eight points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Jimmie Brown III, who put up two points in addition to nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.

Jacob Coblentz-Brown was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards for Tarbut V' Torah. Gideon Marzouk also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

The Webb Schools now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Tarbut V' Torah, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Webb Schools will face off against Capistrano Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Capistrano Valley Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something The Webb Schools surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tarbut V' Torah, they will take on Southlands Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tarbut V' Torah is facing Southlands Christian at the right time seeing as Southlands Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
