Baseball Recap: North Babylon Takes a Loss

North Babylon fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Newfield on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 9-8. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jordan Konig led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. North Babylon is 4-1 when Konig posts three or more hits, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Daniel Goodis, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for North Babylon and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Newfield, their record now sits at an identical 4-5.

While North Babylon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
