Softball Recap: Riverdale Triumphs

Riverdale had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Rock Island Rocks 2-1.

Lauren Brewer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Riverdale's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bella Waldrop, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Riverdale's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Rock Island, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Riverdale will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln County at 6:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Rock Island, they will head out to take on Moline at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
