Baseball Game Preview: Dawson Eagles vs. Sam Rayburn Texans

For the second straight game, Dawson will face off against Sam Rayburn. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Texans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dawson has three straight wins, Sam Rayburn has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Dawson beats Sam Rayburn with eight runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Eagles blew past the Texans 8-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Bennett Schnee tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dawson let Adam Timmons and Garritt Romero run wild. Timmons scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Romero scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Manny Lopez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Sam Rayburn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-2. As for Dawson, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
