Baseball Recap: Baldwin Victorious

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Baldwin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Ridgeview Panthers by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chase Staley made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Turner Farah, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Josh Jordan was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

The victory got Baldwin back to even at 10-10. As for Ridgeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Baldwin will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Ridgeview, they will host Christ's Church Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
