Recap: Credo Gryphon vs. Rancho Cotate Cougars
The Credo Gryphon's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-44 walloping at the hands of Rancho Cotate. Credo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.
Leading Rancho Cotate to victory were Decimus Shaw and Adam Pengel. Shaw scored 17 points along with 4 steals, while Pengel scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Pengel's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Cook, who scored 4 points along with 12 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Credo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Rancho Cotate, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Credo will challenge Rio Lindo Adventist at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rio Lindo Adventist focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday. Rancho Cotate is on the road again on Tuesday and play against San Marin at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. San Marin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 176 points over their last three contests.
