Basketball Game Preview: Wapahani Raiders vs. Shenandoah Raiders

Wapahani will head out to take on Shenandoah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wapahani is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

If Shenandoah heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Wapahani took over last week. Wapahani managed a 53-47 victory over Yorktown on Saturday. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Tigers are ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wapahani got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Andrews out in front who on his way to 17 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Nate Luce, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Shenandoah was not quite Frankton's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 46-39 to the Eagles. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 13-9 in the first quarter.

Shenandoah's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Wapahani, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.

Wapahani strolled past Shenandoah when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 61-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wapahani since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
