Basketball Recap: Fremont Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Fremont put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-58 win over the Omaha Central Eagles. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 69-53 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Fremont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zach Keaton led the charge by putting up 14 points. The dominant performance gave Keaton a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Vacha, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Omaha Central lost, don't look at Evan Rodgers. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Nichols, who posted eight points and three steals.

Fremont's record is now 3-0. As for Omaha Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Fremont will take on Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Fremont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Omaha Central, they will square off against Omaha North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
