After flying high against St. John XXIII last Friday, St. Michael came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Episcopal Knights by a score of 44-42 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Knights are ranked 153rd).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nico Anderson, who rushed for 73 yards and three scores, and also threw for 207 yards and one TD while completing 78.6% of his passes. Ian Quinn was in the mix as well, providing St. Michael's with two touchdowns.

St. Michael's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Andres Patino and Pierce Kovacs. Kovacs got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
