Volleyball Recap: Okeechobee's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Okeechobee had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Sebring Blue Streaks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Brahmans have posted against the Blue Streaks since October 18, 2022.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Okeechobee who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 16-25, 15-13.

Azariah Washington paced Okeechobee's offense, picking up 17 kills. Washington got some help from Lindy Harwas and her 31 assists. Yani Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Sebring's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alana Cohen, who had 20 digs and four aces, and Olivia Florio, who had ten digs. Cohen has been hot, having posted three or more aces the last five times she's played. Rachel Painter also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Okeechobee now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Sebring, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Okeechobee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Lake Placid on the 18th. As for Sebring, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Auburndale on the 19th.
