Basketball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but North Raleigh Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Cary Academy Chargers 69-64. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, North Raleigh Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brennen Jefferson went 11 for 13 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Jefferson's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Cooper Herakovich was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven boards and five assists.

It was another big night for Aidan Rousseau, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds for Cary Academy. Rousseau has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Julian Tweedy was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

North Raleigh Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cary Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will host New Life Camp at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cary Academy, they will take on GRACE Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
