Soccer Game Preview: The Woodlands vs. Bridgeland

The Woodlands will challenge the Bridgeland Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

The Woodlands is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They skirted past MacArthur 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given The Woodlands' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 236th, while MacArthur are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, Bridgeland entered their tilt with Klein Collins on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Tigers.

The victory made it two in a row for The Woodlands and bumps their season record up to 12-5-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two matches. As for Bridgeland, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3-4.

The Woodlands beat Bridgeland by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for The Woodlands since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
