Baseball Recap: North Duplin Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Neuse Charter last Thursday, North Duplin came back down to earth. The Rebels took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakewood Leopards on Wednesday. The Rebels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Leopards earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

North Duplin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Graham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

North Duplin's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for Lakewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

North Duplin will be playing at home against Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lakewood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hobbton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Leopards' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
