Softball Recap: Mynderse Academy Has No Trouble Against Midlakes

Mynderse Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Midlakes Screaming Eagles 12-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the match before.

Haley Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Young was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Mynderse Academy got a big performance out of Isabella Burlew, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those stolen bases were Burlew's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kyah Lajewski, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The win got Mynderse Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Midlakes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mynderse Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Penn Yan Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Midlakes will challenge rival Newark at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
