After a string of seven wins, Adair County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Russell County Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-1 defeat back in March.

Adair County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayton Coomer, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another was Aiden Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Adair County's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Russell County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-9.

Coming up, Adair County will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Larue County at 5:00 p.m. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Russell County, they will head out on the road to face off against Glasgow at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lakers are facing the Scotties at the right time seeing as the Scotties are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
