Baseball Game Preview: Paul VI Eagles vs. Bishop Eustace Prep Crusaders

Paul VI is 1-9 against Bishop Eustace Prep since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Crusaders at 3:45 p.m.

Paul VI came up short against Cherokee on Saturday, falling 12-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Bishop Eustace Prep waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Crusaders have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Daniel Passalacqua tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Roman Faiola was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Bell, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Bishop Eustace Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Paul VI, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
